Veteran's Day

When Aiden heard that G-pa and GG made an appearance at Brody's pack meeting and brought their uniform jackets and medals and told stories about World War II,  he thought it was so cool that he just had to have a similar opportunity! He asked his Nana to make plans to go over to their house and on Veteran's day he got his chance! After lunch, we went into the family room, where G-pa had his war memorabilia. G-pa then took a seat in his arm chair while Anna and Aiden sat on the couch next to him. As grandpa told about his experiences Aiden and Anna were absolutely riveted! Never before have I seen them sit so long without moving and talking! Although, I have heard the story before it never ceases to amaze me that my grandpa is not only a war hero but that we are so lucky that he survived and is still here today to tell us the stories! It was an awesome experience to have grandpa show us his Purple Heart and see the kind of bullet that shot the plane he was in when he was wounded. Aiden then tried on his jacket and G-pa role played a proud father sending his son off to war! After Grandpa finished telling his story (which I am so fortunate to have on video tape) GG then talked about her experience serving in the military. She was the one who was responsible for sending out the orders to the soldiers! I know the kids were quite impressed that grandma also served in the military. Anna then tried on GG's jacket. I still can't believe how tiny GG and G-pa were as their jackets fit my children! All in all it was an amazing day and one that I will always remember. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend Veteran's Day with two of my favorite Veteran's and more importantly that my children were able to hear their great-grandparents incredible stories. They really are our hero's!

Where in the World is Trent Bevier?

Trent is on the move again...thanks to a small ice storm in CT, he has left the great country of Canada and is back in the U.S.! With all his moving around I decided that we should create some kind of map to keep track of him! Who knows where he will end up next...

Trick or Treat

The cub scouts were in charge of the games for Trunk or Treat

A little pumpkin bowling....thanks pinterest!

Hysterical...what is it about a costume and a basket that makes Anna want to skip everywhere?

Totally getting into character!

Very ready to trick or treat...if only it would get dark

Thank you papa for helping us with our pumpkins!
